I’m Katharina, originally from Germany. I have been living in Paraty since 2013. I work in the field of development, working on social and artistic projects and organizing cultural events. I studied International Development at the University in Vienna, Austria. I have travelled and undertaken a range of field work projects around Brazil and Latin America.
My partner is Luciano, born in Recife, Brazil. He is a musician, artist, composer, writer and promoter of cultural events. In the last few years he has organized important events in Brazil and Europe, such as the Festival of Brazilian Music in Vienna, Austria. He has also published two poetry books “O qué que tu tem Zé?” and “Cafés”. In 2015, he recorded his CD “Mar” and in 2018 his CD “Mandinga di Caboclo”.
You can get to know his musical work on his website here: www.lucianociranda.com
Our two sons are Nilo, and baby Kalu. Nilo is very communicative and funny. He already presents himself as a musician and artist.
We have two easygoing cats. They wander around the space and take care of us as well as the natural balance of the garden.
We are an easygoing, kind and creative family. We love, nature, arts and drums. Our ambitions are: conscientious development, intergrating with nature and promoting creativity and the afro-brazilian arts.
With our project Casa Tambor, we want to give people the chance to: relax in the peace of nature, appreciate and intergrate with mother earth, explore the beauty of simplicity, be spritually inspired and learn about plants, arts and music.
Our main motive is to build bridges between people, countries, nature and arts.
